Reading Reflection
I haven't ever been the biggest reader, but ever since my education at u of d started I have found a love for writing. I'm personally someone who likes to come up with their own theories and thesis', and u of d's education has taught me how to express myself and prove my arguments. I think writing essays can be a way of showing your brilliance despite whether or not you are book smart or very good with math and etc.
I'm not the biggest fan of books unless it is something that interests me, for example back in elementary when we could read any book of our choice I would read and be interested in as much percy jackson as I could get. Definitely my favorite book series and really brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. I started to get into realistic fiction books around middle school which is still my favorite genre. It all started with the outsiders which was a book that I could relate to and never feel like I was bored or not interested in while reading. If I could read Outsiders again for the first time again I would definitely do it, it is the main reason for my spark into books of that genre.
While taking this class I hope to take away various things to help me succeed even outside of the classroom. I feel that a lot of writing and blogging will help me become a better writer and expresser of what I'm trying to say. I think this class will also help me become a better persuader when bringing up an argument or counter-argument to make my own theory or thesis or argue against someone else's.
I also enjoyed the Outsiders when I first read it. It was one of my favorite books.
ReplyDeleteJean, those are some awesome middle school novels that you read. I hope you enjoy the types of writing assignments and projects we have in this class. You'll get some more experience with "real world" writing, beyond just the five-paragraph academic essays.
